About Me

Updated: Apr 28, 2023

As a veteran therapy client, I know the first thing on my mind when I meet a new clinician is "who is this person and why should I trust them?" My goal with this website is to answer that question for you. Hi, I'm Sam. I'm a mental health therapist who believes in nurturing your inherent strengths to empower you with the tools you need to grow and change.

Why are you a therapist?

If you told me 10 years ago that someday I would become a therapist I probably would have laughed so hard my eye balls popped out. After a lifetime of trauma and having been a client myself since the ripe age of 13, I have met my fair share of therapists-- some I clicked with and some not so much. At times I found the process invasive, humiliating, or overwhelming. It wasn't until I found someone that truly saw me for who I am and supported me unconditionally that I recognized the power of therapy. Once I felt secure in my own identity, I knew that part of my purpose in life is to share the knowledge I've gained and pay forward the gifts I've received. In 2018 I began my studies in counseling at Johns Hopkins University, where I completed my education part-time while working for non-profits and medical institutions local to Baltimore City. I plan to continue this lifelong journey of self-discovery and reflection learning from and sharing with all those I encounter. Consider this an invitation to join me.

Fun Fact:

I have a rescue dog (and at times co-therapist) named Bruce. He's about 100 pounds of pure love and joy. During virtual sessions he may pop in with a little nudge or squeak to say hi.

More about me:

  1. I love plants! I have a flower garden, herb garden, and lots of indoor plants.

  2. My favorite food is spaghetti and meatballs (yes, I'm originally from New Jersey)

  3. I love hiking and spending time in our National Parks. I try to visit a new one every year.

  4. In high school I won the senior superlative of "Largest Appetite." Still not sure what to think of that one.
